So sorry for the delay on everything. I have a million things happening at the same time right now, I feel like my head is about to explode. When I get back though, I'll have a new illustration for 'H', for 'head hunter' (thanks Mykola!).

This one is pretty literal on the surface: a fat man and fries. I decided to place a wolf's head on the body because 'glutton' can also mean 'wolverine', named after the Gulo Gulo of Europe. In the background is a suburban landscape (it's a little faint--squint if you don't see it), which is very American, the perfect environment to harbor gluttony and obesity. The glutton has a halo made of fries; there are those who tend to obsess over food, and gluttons do this so much that they inhale every morsel as if its their last, as if sacred.

The wolf/glutton connection also reminded me of someone I once knew. His name was "Wolfie". I and a bunch of friends were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday this past June at Yosemite. Wolfie surprised us at 11pm at night by coming to our front door. We thought we were about to get attacked by a wolf, but saw the tag around his neck, so we assumed he probably belonged to one of the neighbors. That's when we named him Wolfie. After a drunken photoshoot, and feeding him our leftovers, he cut out when he realized we had no more food to give him. The next night he came back, expecting more to eat. F that. We thought we gained a new BFF but instead he was only using us. :(

Reader Words

A big majority of people that look at this site are other artists. So as a way to get everyone involved and producing fresh work, I'll be posting up a separate Word for all the site viewers every Monday (selected from my past list of unused words). Thank you to Nikki for the word.. I drew up an epileptic girl, her body overcome by seizures caused by her brain. She clenches her little fists in frustration as explosions go off in her head. I wanted the background to be representational of neuron forms..


So finally, it's up. Letter E. Sorry it took so long, I was in LA like I mentioned earlier.. Moving out is noooo fun. But somehow lots of free stuff found its way to me this weekend. Free drinks, and a gift bag full of makeup, perfume and a t-shirt from some event I went to. Then the next day, when I moved my apartment furniture into Public Storage, I bumped into this designer who had lots and lots of awesome stuff she was stowing away. I said "hi" and said "you've got cool stuff here" and went along with my my day. Not too long later, she stopped by my storage unit with a huge star sculpture/designer lantern and asked if I wanted it. She said she didn't need it because there was a really minor dent in the side. She said the lantern was originally $2,000 but now with the dent there, she had no use for it. And it became mine, for free. :)

I would put up all the 'E' words that were given to me.. but I'm tired and I have to wake up early tomorrow.
