Title of Piece: Getting Used to It
What Inspired It:
This past summer I picked up a copy of the stage play, Equus, about this disturbed boy and the psychiatrist who studies him. He has a strange obsession with horses and even an erotic attraction that, in the end, results in him blinding six horses at once with a pick. It was a pretty f-ed up storyline, but it was really fascinating how the boy glorified horses to be magical, sacred creatures and worshipped them like religion.

ill!
the word 'equus' always ends up reminding me of blonde redhead. the singer got her jaw trampled by a horse a bit before the album was recorded. so, that's a pretty cool backstory.
